Fuel consumption of our Toyota Innova J VVTi

The fuel prices are increasing weekly; and so is my blood pressure.

It’s been a long time that I have not monitored the fuel consumption of our Toyota Innova. It last fuel consumptions were 8.5 liters per kilometer for city driving and 12 liters per kilometer for highway. I thought of computing the consumption again. After refueling to the brim and city driving 295.70 kilometers, I again refueled to the brim this morning. The fuel loaded was 29.58 liters. And, my fuel consumption was:

Fuel consumption = 295.70 kilometers / 29.580 liters = 10 kilometers / liter

Oh! My fuel consumption for city driving has improved from 8.5 kpl to 10 kpl or by 29%. I would compute my highway consumption when we go out town.

I could attribute the improvement to lesser traffic during the school vacation time. Also, I’m now being gentle with the accelerator.
