I’m traveling to Leyte this morning. On my way to the airport, I noticed that Pilipinas Shell and Chevron have already implemented the diesel price rollback by 75 centavos.
The diesel price now in Novaliches, Fairview, Commonwealth Avenue, & East Avenue areas is now P24.45.
The diesel price war in Novaliches and Fairview areas extends to Commonwealth Avenue and East Avenue in Quezon City.
I observed that gasoline stations (Big 3 and other players) along Commonwealth Avenue, from Fairview to Elliptical Road, and East Avenue slashed their diesel price to P25.20 per liter, matching the diesel price in Novaliches and Fairview areas. They, however, maintained the petrol prices at P33 plus. They may have noticed that no public utility vehicles were refilling in their stations, hence the reduction.
This is good news to motorists living nearby and those who passby this avenue.
Along EDSA in Quezon City, the diesel price is P29.98, while in Mandaluyong and Makati Cities P30.98.
As of yesterday, the lowest diesel price is in UniOil Regalado Avenue at P24.95.
On my way home, I heard in the news that UniOil has reduced its diesel and kerosene prices by P2 per liter effective 2:00 PM today. Eastern Petroleum will also slash its diesel price by P1 per liter effective 12:01 AM tomorrow.
I passed by Regalado Avenue in Novaliches and checked the UniOil priceboard. Its price of diesel is now P24.95, which was used to be P25.60. Hence, the reduction is 65 centavos only and not P2.00. Nonetheless, UniOil price’s now lower by 25 centavos from the Big 3 prices.
Would the Big 3 follow suit and match or even beat UniOil’s price?
While our Kia Carens was being repaired at Kia Pasig, I was thinking of going somewhere else and just come back after lunch. But, the service advisor led me to their Customers’ Lounge. Inside, I changed my mind and whiled away the time there instead.
What had I done during my three and a half hour stay in the lounge?
Here are the pictures:

Our Kia Carens is still young at a year and two months old; but, I’d been hearing annoying noises (kalampag) underneath on rough roads. They became untolerable; so, I brought it to Kia Pasig this morning for check-up and necessary repairs. I also complained that the alarm sound is no longer working. I was informed, however, that the repairer of the alarm from its dealer, Winterpine, would be arriving in the afternoon.
Our car was road tested and the repairs of the kalampag were completed by about 11:30 AM. The kalampag repairs are still within the warranty; so, I didn’t shell out a single cent. I couldn’t wait for the Winterpine people; and I drove away. I’d just have the alarm repaired when I return for my 20,000 PMS.
How’s the car? The annoying noises are gone. I was told that the bushings are worn already and have been replaced. Nice job, so far.
Pilipinas Shell, Chevron, and Petron are cutting the prices of diesel and kerosene by P0.50 while hiking the petrol prices by P0.75. Shell and Chevron will also increase their ethanol blend by P1.00.
Shell and Chevron shall adjust their prices at 12:01 AM tomorrow, Saturday, while Petron at 6:00 AM.
PTT will also slash its diesel price by P0.50.

I just got home from my Valencia City trip. On my way from the NAIA Centennial terminal to our home, I again checked the fuel prices in the gasoline stations and thought they have changed. Then, I learned that there were indeed movement in the prices. The price of the diesel is reduced by P0.50 while the petrol prices increased by P0.50. Here are the current prices in Novaliches and Fairview areas:
This morning, I arrived Cagayan De Oro City. Thence, I proceeded to Valencia City. On my way to Valencia City, I checked the price boards of the gasoline stations.
Most gasoline stations have the following prices:
In Cagayan De Oro City
In Malaybalay City
I also checked the prices in Valencia City but I lost my note.
I heard in the news yesterday about the roll back of fuel prices by 50 centavos to take effect at 6:00 PM yesterday for Eastern Petroleum and at midnight for the big three.
This morning, on my way to work, I noticed that Shell and Petron have slashed their prices by P0.50. Chevron prices remain the same. On my way home, I noticed Chevron has also slashed its price.
Current fuel prices in Novaliches and Fairview areas:
